Lead Electromagnetics Researcher Date 24-May-2021 Location Abu Dhabi AE Company Technology Innovation Institute Technology Innovation Institute TII is a publicly funded research institute based in Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates It is home to a diverse community of leading scientists engineers mathematicians and researchers from across the globe transforming problems and roadblocks into pioneering research and technology prototypes that help move society ahead Directed-Energy Research Centre Directed-energy systems such as microwave laser and acoustics represent a powerful emerging technology with new industrial and medical applications Our Directed-Energy Research Centres priorities include Cutting-edge high-power electromagnetic solutions Innovative high-energy laser systems Advanced acoustic technologies Pulsed power technologies Particle beams and plasma physics Antennas and metamaterials Radar and remote-sensing technologies Position Lead Electromagnetics Researcher DERC-TII is seeking an experienced researcher to integrate the Electromagnetic Effects R D team The candidate will lead R D projects dealing with electromagnetic hardening modeling and testing The candidate will perform activities such as Coordinate R D projects in the field electromagnetic protection of critical infrastructures hardening numerical modeling experimental testing Writing publications and filing patents in the field of applied electromagnetics and EMC Develop numerical and experimental techniques to support our projects Participate in multidisciplinary discussions within the activity domain of DERC Other duties related to the position Skills Required Minimum five years of experience in the field Numerical modeling with full wave simulation and or transmission line theory Laboratory experiments with microwave equipment like VNAs antennas RF receivers Good knowledge of EMC practices and experimental testing Previous experience working with reverberation chambers is a plus Project management skills previous participation management of research projects on the field Knowledge of signal processing languages such as python matlab or octave Relevant publications in the field Communication skills for working in a multidisciplinary team Qualification Ph D degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields At TII we help society to overcome its biggest hurdles through a rigorous approach to scientific discovery and inquiry using state-of-the-art facilities and collaboration with leading international institutions Our rigorous discovery and inquiry-based approach helps to forge new and disruptive breakthroughs in advanced materials autonomous robotics cryptography digital security directed energy quantum computing and secure systems
