Do you have a degree in Early Childhood with at least 2 years teaching experience?

Would you like teach abroad in the United Arab Emirates?

My client is looking for qualified and experienced female early childhood teachers to join my client for the next academic year. This is an ideal school to start your international career and develop it. If you have experience of teaching in an Islamic faith school which delivers the UK curriculum of England and Wales then you would be ideal for this school. There are a total of 4000 students at this school and growing.

Most of the students are from local Emirati nationalities and some from expatriate families.

Students are very respectful at the school and there are very little behavioral issues at the Early Years section

The school is located about 15 minutes from Dubai. This International School, Sharjah is a flourishing Nursery to Grade 13 school that provides a high-quality education service leading to internationally recognized examination qualifications (IGCSE) and AS levels with student access to higher education, both in the UK and worldwide. The School opened in 1991 and has undergone an extensive building programme over the past decade, which is now near completion. There is an early years’ campus for children from Nursery to Grade 1, a separate campus for Grade 2 to Grade 4 (Primary) and the Main Campus which houses separate Senior Girls and Boys Schools.

Requirements to Apply

- Degree in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor's Degree

- A PGCE in Early Childhood Education with QTS

- Ideally 2 years of teaching experience

- Western-trained

The School was purpose built and opened in September 1991. The Senior School facilities are equally impressive, with separate departments for English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Art and Design, and Languages. There are a Sports Gymnasium and PE facilities, Science and IT Laboratories. The school also benefits from Rugby and Soccer fields adjacent to the Senior School and swimming. There are separate libraries and ICT facilities in each of the schools. In the 2008-2009 academic year, there will be approximately 2200 students from Nursery to Year 13. These numbers are very impressive and predicted enrolments are very strong. Our student population is a rich international and multi-cultural mix, with approximately 35 nationalities represented, the largest single group coming from the UAE, other Middle East countries and Asia as well as a small number from UK, USA. The School is in the process of receiving CIS Accreditation. Parents predominantly, though not exclusively, come from a professional background and have high academic aspirations for their children who themselves are highly motivated. There are over 200 (full-time equivalent) teaching staff supported by a dedicated technical, administrative and maintenance staff. The teaching staff, recruited both locally and overseas, are well qualified, experienced and highly motivated.

The curriculum followed is largely based on that of an English National Curriculum school, while also taking into account the Islamic dimension of the school’s location and the diverse makeup of the student population. The English National Curriculum has been largely adopted, but suitable modifications have been made, where necessary, based upon the professional judgments of staff. Arabic is compulsory for all students. Outside visits and residential expeditions are integral parts of the curriculum in the Senior School.
