Position Title: Production Planner
- Reports to: Production Manager
- Work Location: Dubai Industrial City ( DIC) & Dubai Silicon Oasis ( DSO)
- Job Summary: Responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating the production processes to ensure efficient and timely completion of joinery projects. Requires a strong understanding of production planning, material management, and manufacturing processes specific to the joinery industry. Work closely with production managers, procurement teams, and project coordinators to optimize workflow and meet production targets.
- Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning:
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to ensure timely completion of joinery projects.
Allocate resources,
including labor, materials, and equipment, to maximize production efficiency.
- Adjust production schedules as needed to accommodate changes in project timelines or resource availability.
Material Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials.
- Track material usage and waste to optimize resource utilization.
Workflow Coordination:
- Collaborate with production managers and team leads to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production processes.
Identify and address potential bottlenecks or delays in production.
- Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce lead times.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Prepare and present production reports to management, highlighting key performance metrics.
- Utilize production planning software and tools to track and manage production activities.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that production processes adhere to quality standards and specifications.
Coordinate with quality control teams to address any production-related quality issues.
- Implement corrective actions to resolve production defects and improve product quality.
Communication and Coordination:
- Communicate production schedules, changes, and priorities to relevant stakeholders.
Work closely with project coordinators to align production activities with project timelines and customer requirements.
- Foster a collaborative work environment to enhance team performance and morale.
- Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration,
or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Production Planner in the joinery or woodworking industry.
Strong understanding of production planning principles, material management, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
- Experience with inventory management and supply chain coordination.
Familiarity with joinery-specific production techniques and materials.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Working Conditions:
This position may require occasional travel to supplier locations, client sites, and production facilities.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Office and factory settings with standard working hours, with some flexibility as needed for production demands.
