Position Title: Logistics Coordinator
- Location: Dubai Industrial City
- Job Summary:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all logistics operations related to the movement of aluminum and glass products. This role involves ensuring timely delivery, optimizing transportation costs, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and transportation providers.
- Key Responsibilities:
Transportation Management:
- Coordinate and monitor the transportation of aluminum and glass products.
Select appropriate transportation methods and carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Schedule shipments and track them to ensure on-time delivery.
Order Processing:
- Process and manage orders from receipt to delivery.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation for shipments, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and customs documentation.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure orders are picked, packed, and dispatched correctly.
Supplier and Customer Coordination:
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, transportation providers, and customers.
Communicate with suppliers and customers to resolve any issues related to shipments.
- Provide regular updates to customers regarding the status of their orders.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock for customer orders.
Coordinate with the warehouse team to manage inventory movements.
- Assist in conducting regular inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies.
Cost Management:
- Optimize transportation costs by negotiating rates with carriers and selecting the most cost-effective shipping methods.
Monitor and control logistics expenses to stay within budget.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all logistics operations comply with company policies and legal regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including invoices, packing lists, and delivery receipts.
Prepare and submit necessary documentation for customs and regulatory compliance.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or delays related to shipments.
- Investigate and report any discrepancies or damages in transit.
Implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze logistics reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Logistics Manager.
Participate in logistics meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
- Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics coordination, preferably in the aluminum and glass industry.
- Familiarity with transportation regulations and logistics best practices.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
Certifications: Certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
