Job Summary:
Oversee and manage the daily operations of the hotel's laundry and dry cleaning services. This includes supervising the laundering of room linens, terry, F&B;, spa linens, and associate uniforms, while ensuring compliance with quality standards. Collaborate with contracted services and internal teams to maintain a smooth operation and meet guest expectations.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage day-to-day laundry and dry cleaning operations, ensuring timely and high-quality services for guest linens, staff uniforms, and F&B;/spa linens.
2. Supervise the contracted laundry services and oversee the handling of damaged or stained items, ensuring proper treatment or removal from circulation.
3.
Conduct regular inspections of linens, towels, and uniforms, enforcing standards and addressing any deficiencies.
4. Coordinate with the Engineering Department on the maintenance of laundry equipment and machinery to avoid breakdowns or service interruptions.
5. Monitor inventory levels and order necessary supplies, ensuring all team members have the tools and materials required to perform their duties efficiently.
6. Oversee laundry staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and training to maintain high levels of productivity and adherence to safety regulations.
7. Organize and lead periodic deep-cleaning projects, such as carpet and curtain cleaning, in accordance with the hotel's standards.
8. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies, and address guest complaints or concerns related to laundry services.
9. Collaborate with HR and management in recruitment, onboarding, and performance appraisals for laundry team members.
10. Facilitate cost control measures by effectively managing resources,
labor, and supplies to align with budget targets.
11. Communicate regularly with team members, providing updates on departmental goals and performance.
12. Recognize and celebrate team achievements, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
2. At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in hospitality or hotel laundry services.
3. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
4. Proven leadership experience, with at least 1 year of supervisory or management experience.
5. Knowledge of laundry operations, cleaning chemicals, and health and safety standards.
6. Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently,
and collaborate effectively within a team.
7. Experience in scheduling, budgeting, and cost management for operational efficiency.
8. Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand or walk for extended periods.
9. Proactive, reliable, and able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
