Job Summary
The Facilities Supervisor – Maintenance, will have a significant impact on customer experience. The Supervisor will have the ability to lead other technicians, design solutions for challenging problems, manage outside contractors, be on call for emergencies, handle multiple projects and daily activities, and meet tough timelines. The Supervisor will develop plans on how to accomplish engineering departmental goals and will be responsible for the leadership, development, and coaching of the team through Performance Management. This role also leads the technical team in providing both reactive and proactive maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure within the Amazon Facility.
The role has a direct impact on the site, its productivity, and operational success. If equipment is not available or performs badly, it minimizes the capacity and throughput of the site.
Key Job Responsibilities
Promote safe working practices in all work carried out ensuring compliance with Amazon safety standards and regulations. Carry out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment within the site. React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected parties, and work efficiently to fix the issue. Promote continuous improvement culture by analyzing breakdowns and propose changes and suggestions for better performance to the line manager. Ensure high levels of equipment availability/reliability to the operations team. Manage the contractors and ensure adherence to Amazon standards within the site premises. Monitor daily site utilities and sustainability performance and provide cause of change for any undesired results.
Observe housekeeping and cleaning practices and ensure providing the highest level of janitorial services. Daily respond to maintenance work orders and provide relevant response to RME customers and arrange needed resources to perform the task. Perform spare parts regular survey to detect any gap and inform line manager and RME planner with the needed spares. Provide on-job training to RME technicians and develop their skills matrix to ensure that they have the right level of competency to perform the tasks.
A Day in the Life
Daily monitor and respond to RME customers' requests through the trouble ticketing system and always show customer obsession behavior. Plan the annual maintenance contracts vendor activities within the shift and prepare for upcoming shifts.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Engineering with Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial as major with +2 years of experience in related fields. Multi-skilled in either electrical and mechanical disciplines. Solid foundational knowledge of PLC based control systems and mechanical components. Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasks. Understanding of OEE and equipment performance metrics. Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements. Experience of contractor management.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize many different projects and workloads. Experience of multi-contractor management. Must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric.
Leadership experience/aptitude, ability to mentor and develop training plans for other service technicians. Experience with packaging machines or conveyor systems. Experience in an international environment. Proven ability to troubleshoot under high pressure.
