Join our dynamic Kitchen Team as a Junior Sous Chef and support the team in preparing kitchen items.
Because of this vital role, we’re looking for someone with high grooming & hygiene standards and basic skills in our culinary team. With direct reporting to Executive Sous Chef, you will assist in the smooth running of the main kitchen by preparing and presenting food to a high standard and maintaining hygiene practices. You will follow brand-standard food specifications with high performance and presentation and ensure minimum food wastage in the kitchen. You will be required to ensure consistency of brand standards and a high level of performance and service delivery is maintained at all times.
Responsibilities will include,
but not be limited to:
- Managing the day-to-day operation and ensuring standards are being applied within the operation
- Work with superiors to produce diversified menus in accordance with the restaurant’s policy and vision;
- Coming up with new recipes which appeal to the clients whenever required;
- Producing high-quality dishes that follow the established menu and level up to the hotel standards, as well as to clients’ requirements;
- Planning the food design to create a perfect match between the dish’s aspect and its taste;
- Developing talented chefs and ensuring that they have Room to Grow
- Creating tasting menus for clients interested in contracting the food for different events (weddings, banquets, corporate dinners, birthday parties, etc.) from their kitchen;
- Developing a cross-marketing strategy to increase profits
- Daily control of all food, material, and equipment stocks.
- Must effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing,
identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Ad-hoc duties are unexpected moments when we have to pull together to complete a task.
