About the Job: IT Service Desk Technician

Network Overdrive Australia is hiring in Dubai. We are looking for an IT Service Desk Technician able to work evenings and be part of a global team of IT professionals.

You will be required to provide technical solutions to corporate clients about desktop, networking (LAN, WAN, VPN, WiFi, and Internet), and cyber security. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly.

You should also have excellent English and customer service skills and an interest in speaking to our clients on the phone about minor IT frustrations and major outages.





Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently for our clients anywhere in the world.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure North American customers are receiving timely responses to their needs during USA business hours via phone, email, chat, and ticketing system.
- Take necessary actions to have customers' Azure Infrastructure, Windows domain servers, Exchange servers, file/print servers, and application servers operational on a 24 X 7 basis.
- Conduct timely updating of OS patches, security patches, and service packs to minimize cyber security threats.
- Investigate cyber security events in SIEM.
- Manage email quarantines and perform analysis of malware.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical hardware and software problems.
- Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
- Recommend and execute modifications to systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Define and perform system backups and recovery procedures to ensure data protection.
- Knowledge of system security (e.g.,





intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.

Provide Support in the Following Areas:

- HP and Dell Workstations and Laptops
- Azure and Microsoft 365 Platforms
- Fortinet firewalls, switches, and WAPs
- Active Directory
- Windows Server OS
- Hyper-V
- File and Print Server
- Windows Active Directory including Group Policy

Requirements and Skills:

- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
- BSc/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus.
