We are looking for an Assistant Manager Business Support â Insurance & Travel within the Group Procurement department, who will be responsible for the enterprise-wide insurance, travel, telecommunications, and fleet programs.
This role focuses on procurement, operations, servicing, and coordination between senior leadership, the business, and vendors, requiring a high degree of collaboration and communication with internal stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and IT.
Key Responsibilities :
INSURANCE
Strategic Contribution :
- Risk Strategy : Accountable for defining and adapting Seddiqi Group's risk transfer and insurance placement strategies to align with the evolving risk profile and company's risk appetite.
- Risk Management : Promoting insurance and risk management programs to implement the Group's risk transfer initiatives effectively, managing the total cost of risk.
- Claims Cycle Management : Responsible for the end-to-end insurance claims cycle with stakeholders to maximize financial recovery and ensure timely resolution of claims.
- Expert Advisory : Acting as an expert advisor to the Board, identifying areas for necessary risk management improvements.
- Value Proposition : Articulating and promoting the value of company's risk transfer strategies to enhance understanding and compliance.
- Early Involvement : Ensuring the Insurance Team is represented early in new business activities, acquisitions, and projects to provide expertise for effective risk mitigation.
Insurance Policy Placement & Management :
- Sourcing the market : Coordination of strategic RFPs to select the best broker or insurer to meet business objectives.
- Negotiations : Leading negotiations with insurance providers to secure competitive risk transfer solutions.
- Identification of Needs : Accountable for identifying the insurance needs for all Seddiqi stocks and assets, ensuring coverage of liabilities and contractual requirements.
- Collaboration : Working collaboratively with the Loss Prevention team, Finance, and Brand Management on risk mitigation strategies.
- Contract Management : Managing external insurance provider contracts to extract maximum value.
Cost Management and Savings :
- Negotiating Premiums :
Regularly reviewing and negotiating insurance premiums to achieve cost savings.
- Claims Optimization : Implementing strategies to minimize the frequency and severity of claims, reducing overall costs.
- Policy Consolidation : Identifying opportunities to consolidate policies and leverage economies of scale.
Claims Management :
- Efficient Settlement : Leading negotiations on claims to achieve efficient settlement timeframes and maximize financial recovery.
- Trends Identification : Identifying systemic claims trends and engaging with relevant departments to implement solutions.
- Support and Management : Managing and supporting all Business Units in handling risk improvement recommendations and root cause analyses.
Risk Engineering Surveys & Recommendations :
- Program Design :
Accountable for designing and managing risk engineering programs focusing on continual improvement.
- Process Establishment : Establishing processes and reporting standards to ensure timely closure of open risk recommendations.
Advisory and Compliance :
- Contractual Protection : Collaborating with other teams to ensure adequate protection and appropriate insurances for contractors.
- Subject Matter Expertise : Acting as the insurance subject matter expert for coverage, claims, and project-specific requirements.
- Regulatory Understanding : Maintaining a thorough understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and identifying areas for improvement.
TRAVEL / TELECOMMUNICATIONS / FLEET :
Program Oversight :
- Managing the enterprise-wide travel,
telecommunications, and fleet programs.
- Operational Management : Overseeing operations, whether in-house or outsourced, and assisting in developing policies and procedures.
Cost Management and Savings :
- Travel Cost Reduction : Negotiating corporate travel rates and monitoring spending to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Telecommunications Optimization : Evaluating telecom plans to ensure cost-effectiveness and negotiating better rates.
- Fleet Efficiency : Implementing fleet management best practices to reduce operational costs.
Partner Management :
- Sourcing the market : Coordination of strategic RFPs to enhance partnerships and achieve business objectives.
- Vendor Selection : Identifying and selecting the best vendors for travel,
telecommunications, and fleet services through a rigorous RFP process.
- Contract Negotiation : Leading negotiations with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Performance Monitoring : Regularly reviewing vendor performance against agreed SLAs and KPIs to ensure compliance and service excellence.
- Issue Resolution : Acting as the primary point of contact for resolving issues with vendors.
- Relationship Building : Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key vendors to foster long-term partnerships.
- Innovation and Best Practices : Encouraging vendors to innovate and adopt best practices that align with the company's goals.
- Compliance and Risk Management :
Ensuring that all vendor contracts comply with relevant regulations and internal policies
- Operational SLAs : Establishing and monitoring SLAs with travel, telecommunications, and fleet vendors to ensure high-quality service and adherence to agreed-upon performance metrics.
- Additionally manage the Budget Management, Customer Satisfaction and Process Streamlining.
In order to be successful in this role, you should have :
- Bachelorâs degree or equivalent.
- Insurance management or equivalent experience.
- 5 to 8 years of job-related experience, with a minimum of 5 years handling General and Employee Health & Benefits policies in corporate, global companies.
- Experience interacting with national / international financial institutions and service providers.
- CII qualifications or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
