Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Engineer (Water and Wastewater) to join our team! In this role you will get to do complex engineering tasks related to water/wastewater projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Perform various engineering and design assignments requiring the application of advanced principles and fundamental theories studied in a four-year university engineering program, and available data in the civil engineering field.
2. Independently prepare and supervise the preparation of fundamental engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Prepare detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts.

Undertake independent reviews of supplier drawing submittals and technical bid analyses. Supervise the preparation and issuance of specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
4. Provide input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project, and carry out CAD related tasks using special 3D software and model creation.
5. Lead a team of design engineers, hydraulic modelers, and draftsmen involved in designing collection, conveyance, and disposal of wastewater networks. Demonstrate advanced experience and knowledge of preparing and developing hydraulic models for gravity networks, design reports, and Bentley SewerCAD / SewerGems, InfoSWMM and Infoworks CS.
6. Be familiar with load demand calculations for large private developments and/or large government projects. Be conversant with Water/Irrigation/Firefighting Authority regulations such as DEWA, ADDC/ADWEA, DM, ADM, DCD, ADCD, and other relevant authorities within the Gulf region.
7. Have working knowledge of planning, designing,
and construction of centralized and decentralized wastewater systems, including primary, secondary, and tertiary wastewater treatment, passive and active systems, sewerage, pumping systems, sludge, and effluent management.
8. Have basic experience in creating utility cross-sections as per requirements of local authorities in the Gulf region like DMT (Abu Dhabi).
9. Prepare technical specifications and design reports.
10. Be conversant with British and American codes as well as DEWA/DM regulations for the design of wastewater systems.
11. Have experience liaising with service provider agencies for obtaining NOCs and Design Approvals.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
1. 4-year degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering)
and master’s degree in a water-related discipline with about 15 to 20 years of related work experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in UAE/GCC. Candidates with professional qualifications (PE, CIWEM, or ICE, etc.) will be preferred.
