Job Summary
- Contribute to efficient execution in compliance with the Project schedule.
- Responsible for the technical integrity of assigned Civil and Structural activities.
- Responsible for quality defined in the quality management system in general as well as according to governing rules, regulations, standards, specifications and or procedures.
- Performance targets for the year to be established in Q1 every year as per instructions from NOV and managed through standard business processes and described in the performance tool.
- Execute projects with quality and cost-effective engineering deliverables, according to company directives and instructions, within laws, rules and regulations.
- Participate and adhere NOV team strategy as well as business objectives set by NOV.
- Independent responsibility for the professional execution of the work assigned to the team.
Responsibilities/AccountabilitiesHSEQ
The Engineer shall on own initiative:
- Take personal responsibility for HSE by focusing on own behavior.
- Ensure that own work follows Company requirements for HSEQ.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality and safety of our products and deliveries.
Tasks and Responsibilities (not exhaustive)
The Engineer shall on own initiative
- General technical assignments as requested by the project management
- Training and experience transfer of other less experienced engineering personnel.
- Misc. tasks related to procurement, documentation, reporting, etc.
- Cost Analysis, Resource Deployment, Model Review
- Pursue professional development within own discipline/area,
- Report deviations, suggest improvements to the company QM system
- Proactively work to continuously improve the company and its operations by Lesson Learned initiatives.
Reporting and Communication
The Engineer shall on own initiative:
- Reporting in project to the Lead Engineer, Engineering Manager and Project Manager.
- Report any non-compliance with HSEQ requirements to the Team Manager.
- Interact with the Civil & Structural Engineer regarding technical and project-related challenges.
Methods of Work
- Participate in the evaluation of working methods and conditions thereby minimize the risk for the workplace and environmental incidents and thereby minimize the risk for quality issues
- Ensure processes are performed in compliance with internal and external requirements, defined and documented, continually measured, evaluated, improved and secured.
- Be proactive & manage schedules and complete tasks within deadlines.
- Ensure that relevant working methods are followed
- Perform tasks in such a way as to reduce environment and health risks
- Ensure tasks performed are to a high quality and suggest improvements wherever required
Subordinates, peers and leadership
- Actively participate in the appraisal process, ensuring objectives are entered into the system and are reviewed on time as required
- Work closely with peers to reach the common and shared goals for NOV
Facility Specific Responsibilities
- Development of specifications and other engineering documentation,
- Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, Vendor Management
- Feasibility Evaluation, Structural Design and drawings,
- Detail Engineering,
Analysis and calculations,
Qualifications/Requirements
- Evaluating Civil & Structural design progress & development
- Responsible for carryout meeting with client and resolving client comments on various designs method query
- Carrying out site inspection & providing related technical support for Project team
- Preparation of Material Requisition of all Civil and Structural items
- Evaluation of vendor offers, Raising TQs, Preparation of Technical Bid Evaluation and Post order vendor documents review.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or MSc in Civil and Structural Engineering
- Provide input in preparation of Engineering Master Scheduling for structural activities.
- Preparation & review project design basis,
Technical specifications and to ensure integrity in-line with project requirement. Performing critical calculations to support project team.
Experience
Min 10 years relevant experience with Civil & Structural Engineering from Oil and Gas industry.Skills & Competencies
- Should be able to understand the project requirements on fast track projects quickly and to meet the project schedule deadline.
- Structural analysis & designs of various types of structures and well versed with STAAD Pro steel structure designs.
- Deftness in swiftly ramping projects in coordination with clients, consultants & contractors.
- Standardization of Design Procedures
- Preparation of Checklist and Design Guideline
- Communication, people management, analytical and coordination skills.
- Engineer shall have good interface knowledge with other disciplines especially Process, Mechanical, Piping, electrical etc. and knowledge of all discipline documents and drawings is required.
- Good Knowledge of International codes and standards AISC, British Standard, Australian Standard, API, ABS etc.
