Job Summary:
The Senior IT Procurement Officer will be responsible for leading and managing the procurement activities related to information technology (IT) products and services. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of IT procurement strategies, vendor management, and contract negotiations specific to IT systems, hardware, software, and services. The Senior IT Procurement Officer will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and the broader procurement team to ensure cost-effective procurement solutions, maintain compliance, and support organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for IT-related goods and services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and budget constraints.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and procurement best practices.
1. Vendor & Contract Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
- Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms and pricing for software, hardware, cloud services, and IT consulting.
- Manage vendor performance and ensure compliance with contract terms, monitor post contract performance and service level agreements.
1. Tendering & Bid Management:
- Prepare and execute requests for proposals, RFIs and requests for quotations for IT procurement needs.
- Evaluate bids, negotiate pricing, and make recommendations for awarding contracts to ensure the best value for the organization.
1. Risk Management & Compliance:
- Ensure procurement activities are compliant with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to IT procurement, including cybersecurity risks associated with third-party vendors.
1. Budget & Cost Control:
- Collaborate with finance and IT departments to forecast and manage IT procurement budgets.
- Monitor spending to ensure procurement activities stay within budget, identifying areas for cost optimization.
1. Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with the IT department to understand technical requirements and provide procurement support for IT projects.
- Liaise with other departments (legal, finance, operations) to facilitate smooth procurement processes.
1. Market Research & Trends:
- Stay updated on emerging IT technologies, market trends, and suppliers to advise on strategic procurement decisions.
- Conduct market analysis to assess pricing trends, new products, and alternative vendors.
1. Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and enhance procurement processes, using technology solutions to improve efficiency and transparency.
- Implement best practices in IT procurement and stay abreast of advancements in procurement technologies.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of P2P & S2P IT procurement process , including hardware, software, cloud services, and IT service agreements.
- Expertise in supplier sourcing, negotiation, and contract management, specifically within the IT industry.
- Analytical skills to assess bids, proposals, and pricing options to ensure value for money.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Strong understanding of IT contract law, licensing agreements, and procurement compliance.
- Excellent knowledge of major ERP systems and procurement management tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in ,Computer engineering and Masters (Preferred not mandatory) in business administration, supply chain management, IT, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of procurement experience, with at least 5 years specifically in IT procurement.
- Relevant certifications such as CPPM, CPP, CPSM, or CIPS are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and IT procurement strategies.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, software licensing, cloud solutions, and cybersecurity risks.
