Job Description
Aldar Education is seeking a PE Classroom Assistant (UAE National) for Muna British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing in the academic year 2024-25. Muna British Academy is in the heart of the city of Abu Dhabi and was recently rated 'Outstanding' by ADEK - Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK). Serving over 700 students from Nursery – Year 6, we follow the National Curriculum of England. The school is a vibrant community. Purpose:
Assist the PE team in delivering and facilitating PE lessons and activities that promote students' overall mental well-being and physical development.
Key duties include:
1. Provide support for individual pupils / groups of pupils inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in a range of activities during the school day and to provide for their social, emotional, and physical well-being.
2. Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety.
3. Assist in the implementation of ECAs and PE lessons for individual pupils / groups of pupils and help monitor their progress.
4. Support pupils with additional support needs.
5. Assist PE class teachers with delivering enjoyable and creative PE lessons and co-curricular activities (CCA) that both challenge pupils and promote physical and mental well-being.
6. Support the aims of the school; comply with the requirements of health and safety, other relevant legislation,
and school policies.
7. Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality, and attendance.
8. Attend team and staff meetings as required.
9. Prepare materials, equipment, and resources as required to facilitate effective learning.
10. Help promote independent learning and build pupils' motivation and self-esteem.
11. Work with other professionals e.g. speech therapists, occupational therapists, etc. as necessary to support effective delivery of PE lessons.
12. Give group instruction as prescribed by the teacher / providing individual instruction.
13. Demonstrate various instructional activities to aid in learning.
14. Assist PE class teacher(s) in monitoring and keeping pupils on task.
15.
Praise and reinforce achievements of pupils / reporting pupil progress to the teacher.
16. Reorganize PE equipment and materials at the end of the day.
17. Supervise pupils in the school and other locations outside the school during PE events.
18. Discipline misbehavior in line with the whole school policy.
19. Undertake other duties from time to time within reasonable remit of the role.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
To have a minimum secondary school certificate. Additional certifications / qualifications in PE (swimming, sports coaching, etc.) desired.
Minimum Experience:
At least two-year experience in a similar role.

1. English language skills or the language applied in the school curriculum.

and knowledgeable.
3. To be able to deal professionally with a range of stakeholders.
4. Passion for teaching and commitment to educating and nurturing children.
