As a Category Executive, you’ll be responsible for defining our selection by store and working on sourcing, pricing, and promotion. This is a unique role with the opportunity to create genuine impact for the lives of everyday people in our region. We’re looking for someone with grocery industry experience, ideally in the private label division.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Work with the Category Managers on maintaining the selection strategy in alignment with the overall department & business strategy and requirements.
2. Work with the Category Managers to identify the selection that needs to be sourced within the private label project across the categories.
3.
Identify and source key consumer trends in online grocery/Q-commerce business.
4. Source & negotiate the required selection with the best prices, quality, and minimum MOQ that meets the business objectives, and ensure competitive commercial terms with the suppliers.
5. Collaborate with the merchandising team to ensure the success of the launched campaigns.
6. Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure stock availability and smooth onboarding of newly added items.
7. Collaborate with the pricing team in sourcing competitive prices to maintain category profitability.
8. Work closely with suppliers and maintain relationships through business reviews and growth planning.
9. Work with the category assistant to ensure the hygiene of the item's content and maintain the right visibility on the App.
What You'll Need
1. At least 2+ years of experience in the grocery private label industry in Buying or Category Management. Time spent in tech or a start-up is a plus.
2. Experience negotiating with manufacturers, FMCGs, or brand owners.
You will be proactively reaching out to brands to build partnerships.
3. You are an excellent communicator with strong influencing skills.
4. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and address something hands-on; you persevere when others fall away.
