Assistant Accountant

An assistant accountant's job is to support the finance team of a company by performing a variety of tasks, including :

Accounting : Preparing financial statements, budgets, and VAT returns

Reconciling : Reconciling accounts, ledgers, and bank deposits

Processing : Processing payments and invoices, and verifying expenses

Reporting : Reporting discrepancies, mistakes, or potential fraud to senior management

Analyzing :





Analyzing financial data to help the finance team make decisions

Managing : Managing accounts receivable and payable, and payroll

Preparing : Preparing financial documents like purchase orders and bank statements

Communicating : Communicating with vendors and customers about invoices and payments

Auditing : Coordinating internal and external audits

Clerical : Performing clerical duties like running errands, handling mail, and scanning documents

Assistant accountants typically work full-time hours, 9 to 5, 37 to 40 hours per week.

However, they may need to put in overtime, especially around the financial year end.
