**Job Summary**:
The Construction Lifting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all lifting operations on a construction site, ensuring that these operations are carried out safely and efficiently. This role involves the coordination of lifting equipment, supervision of rigging teams, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Lifting Operations Management**:
- Supervise and coordinate all lifting activities on the construction site, ensuring that operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
- Develop and implement lifting plans, considering the load, the environment, and equipment capabilities.
- Ensure all lifting equipment is operated by qualified personnel and is used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and site regulations.
- **Safety Compliance**:
- Ensure that all lifting operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and prepare method statements for all lifting activities.
- Monitor the work environment to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions as needed.
- **Equipment Inspection & Maintenance**:
- Inspect lifting equipment (cranes, hoists, slings, etc.) regularly to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule regular maintenance and repairs of lifting equipment.
- Ensure all lifting equipment certifications are up to date.
- **Team Supervision & Training**:
- Supervise riggers, crane operators, and other personnel involved in lifting operations.
- Provide training and guidance to ensure the team understands lifting plans and safety protocols.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings before lifting operations begin.
- **Lifting Plans & Documentation**:
- Develop detailed lifting plans, including load calculations, crane configurations, and the selection of lifting gear.
- Ensure all lifting operations are documented, including pre-lift checklists, inspection records, and incident reports.
- Maintain accurate records of lifting equipment inspections, certifications, and maintenance.
- **Communication & Coordination**:
- Liaise with the site manager, project manager, and other supervisors to coordinate lifting activities with other site operations.
- Ensure clear communication among all parties involved in the lifting operations, including riggers, crane operators, and signalers.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for the provision of additional lifting equipment or services as needed.
- **Incident Management**:
- Lead the investigation of any lifting-related incidents or near misses, ensuring that root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
- Report all incidents and safety concerns to the site manager and safety officer promptly.
- Ensure emergency procedures are in place and all personnel involved in lifting operations are familiar with them.
**Qualifications**:
- Diploma or certification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
