Job Opportunity: Research Assistant Lab Manager
The Cornille Laboratory in the Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Research Assistant Lab Manager starting September 1, 2024. The successful applicant will:
1. Settle the molecular biology lab;
2. Maintain sample collections, organize permit requests, and sampling sessions in the field;
3. Coordinate with the PI and postdocs on the settlement of field experiments with different partners;
4. Conduct a set of techniques in molecular biology by adapting the experimental conditions (apply health and safety rules, extract and sequence DNA and RNA);
5. Run statistical and bioinformatic analyses.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Master's degree in Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, Genomics, or related fields and experience in a biology research laboratory. Significant experience in one or more of the following is strongly desired:
1. Transposable Elements Biology
2. Long-read sequencing
The ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and scientific creativity are essential.
