Position Overview:
A Yacht Carpenter is responsible for the construction, repair, and installation of wooden structures and components on yachts and other marine vessels. This role demands a high level of woodworking skill, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various materials to ensure the structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of the yacht.
Key Responsibilities:
Carpentry and Joinery: Perform carpentry and joinery tasks, such as cutting, shaping, and assembling wooden components to build or repair yacht structures, including cabins, decks, furniture, railings, and fittings.
Reading Blueprints and Plans: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints,
and boat plans to understand the specifications and dimensions required for the carpentry work.
Material Selection: Select appropriate wood and other materials for each project, considering factors such as durability, aesthetics, and cost-effectiveness.
Installation and Fitting: Install finished wooden components on the yacht, ensuring a precise fit and adherence to design specifications.
Sika Application: Experienced in bonding the teak strips using Sikaflex and other similar bonding products.
Repair and Restoration: Repair and restore damaged wooden structures and surfaces on yachts, using appropriate techniques and materials to preserve the vessel's integrity and appearance.
Health and Safety: Follow safety procedures when operating carpentry tools and equipment, ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues.
Quality Control: Inspect completed carpentry work to verify that it meets quality standards and addresses any issues or imperfections.
Equipment Maintenance: Regularly clean, maintain,
and store carpentry tools and equipment to keep them in optimal working condition.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a yacht carpenter or marine carpenter, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in woodworking techniques, including cutting, shaping, and joining wood.
- Familiarity with various types of wood and their properties, as well as knowledge of composite materials used in yacht construction.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Attention to detail and precision in carpentry work to ensure a high-quality finish.
- Knowledge of different finishing techniques, such as varnishing and staining, to protect and enhance wooden surfaces.
- Understanding of marine-specific challenges,
including exposure to saltwater, humidity, and temperature changes.
- Physical dexterity and the ability to work in confined spaces and challenging environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other yacht professionals.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.

**Salary**: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
**Experience**:
- Carpentry: 1 year (preferred)
