Job Summary







The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.

This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and has the flexibility to telecommute, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent may be expected to work in the office on occasion.

This position manages the State Aid Emergency Relief Program for local public agencies throughout the state. Candidate will coordinate and monitor appropriate use of disaster relief funds including State and FHWA resources.





This position also assists the Special Programs Engineer, State Aid Project Development Engineer, and State Aid Plans Engineer in the review and approval of Environmental Documentation, construction plans, agreements, and pay requests for locally initiated federally funded Projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

- Licensure as a professional civil engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID). If obtaining licensure through comity (reciprocity), a practice pending letter from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.
- Experience in transportation project development from scoping to construction.
- Experience applying the National Environmental Project Act requirements (NEPA).






- Experience reading and interpreting construction plans.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with the FHWA Emergency Relief Program.
- Experience working with local public agencies and public works groups.
- Experience with federal authorization, advertising, and pre-letting processes.

Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and criminal history check.
