**We are Immediately hiring for MEP Design Coordinator.**
Experience: 5 - 8 Years
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
**Roles & Responsibilities**
**Project Analysis and Planning**
- Review project requirements, architectural drawings, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project scope, objectives, and design constraints.
- Conduct feasibility studies and analyze design options for MEP systems to align with project goals and budget.
**System Design and Development**
- Develop detailed designs for HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Create and modify technical drawings and 3D models using design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM.
- Select appropriate materials, equipment, and components for MEP systems to optimize performance, cost, and sustainability.
- Ensure that designs comply with local, state, and federal building codes, industry standards, and best practices.
**Calculation and Sizing**
- Perform load calculations, including heating/cooling load calculations, duct and pipe sizing, and electrical load distribution.
- Calculate energy efficiency, airflow, water flow, and other essential metrics for MEP systems.
- Select equipment sizes and capacities based on calculated requirements and client needs.
**Documentation and Specification Development**
- Prepare and maintain detailed engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Draft MEP system specifications, outlining the materials, products, and equipment required for the project.
- Develop and update project documentation, including bills of materials, schedules,
and cost estimates.
**Coordination and Collaboration**
- Coordinate MEP designs with other disciplines, such as architectural, structural, and civil teams, to ensure seamless integration.
- Attend design meetings and site visits to review project progress, discuss issues, and propose solutions.
- Communicate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to address technical questions and ensure correct implementation.
**Quality Assurance and Compliance**
- Conduct design reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of MEP designs.
- Verify that designs align with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform design adjustments as needed based on client feedback, regulatory changes, or site conditions.
**Sustainable Design Practices**
- Integrate sustainable practices in MEP designs, such as energy-efficient HVAC systems, renewable energy options, and water-saving plumbing designs.
- Perform energy modeling and analysis to evaluate the environmental impact and efficiency of MEP systems.
- Stay updated with the latest green building practices, codes, and certifications (e.g., LEED).
**8. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving**
- Identify and resolve design issues, inconsistencies, and potential conflicts with other systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting MEP systems during installation and testing phases.
- Provide recommendations for design modifications based on field feedback and project requirements.
**Continuous Improvement and Learning**
- Stay current with advancements in MEP technologies, software, and design methodologies.
- Attend workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
- Participate in peer reviews and contribute to improving design standards and practices within the organization.
**Technical Support During Construction**
- Provide technical support during the construction phase, answering RFIs (Requests for Information) and resolving any issues that arise.
- Review submittals, shop drawings,
and equipment data to ensure alignment with the design intent.
- Conduct on-site inspections to verify that the MEP installations conform to design specifications and quality standards.
