We are looking for an experienced and proactive Assistant Maintenance Manager to assist in overseeing the maintenance of our restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a background in facility management, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate a wide range of tasks. As the Assistant Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the restaurant’s equipment, utilities, and overall environment are safe, functional, and in excellent condition. This role is crucial in supporting the restaurant's day-to-day operations and ensuring a positive experience for our guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in managing all aspects of facility maintenance, including equipment repairs, plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and building upkeep.
- Perform routine inspections of the restaurant’s facilities and equipment to identify and address any issues before they impact service.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for larger repair projects, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within budget.
- Respond to maintenance requests from staff in a timely manner, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and operational needs.
- Assist in managing maintenance schedules and maintaining detailed records of all inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper waste disposal, ventilation, and overall cleanliness.
- Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed to ensure adequate stock.
- Supervise and assist the maintenance team in completing repairs,
installations, and preventive maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on equipment use and safety procedures.
- Work closely with the restaurant management team to minimize downtime during service hours by scheduling maintenance tasks during off-peak times.
- Stay updated on the latest best practices in maintenance and facility management to improve efficiency and service.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, Assistant Maintenance Manager, or in a similar maintenance or facility management role.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant equipment maintenance, including kitchen appliances, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and address maintenance issues efficiently.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Hands-on experience with common tools and repair techniques, as well as familiarity with larger systems like HVAC and electrical panels.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to facility maintenance in a restaurant environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with staff and contractors.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends, based on the restaurant’s needs.
- A proactive attitude and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, functionality, and safety within the restaurant.
