Day to Day Responsibilities
1. Overall cleaning of the guestrooms to include, but not limited to: dusting, making beds, soiled linen removal from rooms, and retrieval of clean linen from linen closets, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, inside window cleaning, replenish rooms with supplies, etc.,
as per hotel standards.
2. Maintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment.
3. Take accurate room status reports at the end of the shift.
4. Keep linen closets, supply closet and landing organized and clean.
5. Empty vacuum cleaner each time it is nearly full.
6. Report any problems or questions to Supervisor assigned to your floor.
7. Offer assistance to guests and colleagues in a courteous manner.
8. Use hands to lift, carry, or pull objects that may be heavy.
9. Understand simple instructions, learn simple procedures and techniques.
10. Perform routine work or the same task daily.
11. Use the cleaning in progress sign and keep the doors closed at all times when making up rooms.
12. Call room service for removal of trays/trolleys.
13. Report instantly and turn over to security any lost and found items.
14. Be responsible for reporting any rooms which do not require service, DND, not slept in on assigned floor.
15. Report to Floor Housekeeper any mattress protector, blankets, bedspreads,
valances in need of change.
16. Report any equipment malfunctioning.
17. Report any suspicious persons to Housekeeping office or security.
18. Report anything which may be a Health & Safety hazard.
19. Maintain excellent grooming and uniform standards.
20. Read, understand and follow all department policies.
Minimum Requirements
1. High School diploma, vocational training and/or 1 year work experience.
2. Fluent in English (written & verbal) essential.
3. Basic understanding of a second language, desirable – particularly Arabic.
4. Previous experience in luxury hotel environment desirable but not essential.
5. Friendly and pleasant disposition with people interaction skills.
6. High level of personal cleanliness and grooming.
