Overview
The Designer / Draftsman with Driving License plays a crucial role in creating technical drawings and plans, interpreting blueprints, and using design software to produce accurate and detailed designs.
They are responsible for providing essential support to engineering and architectural teams, ensuring that designs and plans meet industry standards and client requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Create detailed technical drawings and plans using design software and manual drafting techniques.
- Interpret and translate rough sketches, notes, and verbal instructions into detailed drawings and plans.
- Collaborate with engineering and architectural teams to ensure that designs meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings.
- Revise and modify designs based on feedback from engineers, architects, and clients.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and deadlines for the completion of drawings and plans.
- Produce clear and detailed drawings for construction and manufacturing projects, including structural, electrical, and mechanical plans.
- Conduct site visits and surveys to gather information for creating accurate drawings and plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all drawings, revisions, and project details.
- Utilize AutoCAD and other design software to create 2D and 3D models and renderings.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain necessary materials and specifications for design implementation.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new design technologies.
- Adhere to safety and quality standards in all design and drafting activities.
- Provide technical support and assistance to project teams during the construction and implementation phases.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certification in Drafting, Design, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Designer / Draftsman with a focus on technical drawing and design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software for creating 2D and 3D drawings and plans.
- Strong understanding of technical drawing principles, standards, and terminology.
- Ability to interpret and translate complex blueprints and specifications into detailed drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in creating accurate and error-free designs.
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record for conducting site visits and surveys.
- Knowledge of construction and manufacturing processes, materials, and standards.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet project deadlines.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and codes related to design, construction, and safety.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to propose effective design solutions.
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving project requirements and design changes.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of design and drafting work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
