The Assistant Manager of Internship & Career Development Center (ICDC) and Alumni Relations Office (ARO) is responsible for providing comprehensive career advising services, supporting the career development of students and alumni, and assisting the Manager in overseeing the implementation of career and internship programs. This role also involves coordinating career-related events, collaborating with industry professionals to secure internship and job opportunities, and ensuring alignment with the university’s strategic goals. The Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective delivery of career guidance, fostering industry relationships, and supporting the overall career readiness of students.

Key Responsibilities:

1.





Career Services
Offer / organize individual and group career counseling sessions to students and alumni, addressing career decision-making, resume writing, job search strategies, interview techniques, and career planning.
Assist students in identifying their strengths, interests, and career aspirations and provide resources to help them align these with market demands.
Assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of career development programs tailored to the needs of students and alumni.
Coordinate workshops on topics such as resume reviews, mock interviews, job search strategies, career exploration, and networking skills.
Partner with the Internship Administrator in developing and maintaining partnerships with employers for internships, cooperative education, and full-time employment opportunities.
Build and maintain relationships with employers, alumni, and industry professionals to enhance internship and career opportunities for students and alumni.






Work with industry representatives to identify job market trends and advise students accordingly.
Develop outreach strategies to engage prospective employers and expand internship placement and job opportunities.
Participate in networking events and engage employers to establish formal partnerships, securing their involvement in career fairs and employer information sessions.
Ensure students and alumni have access to job opportunities via on-campus recruitment, job fairs, and virtual platforms.
Assist in the planning and execution of key events, such as career fairs, employer networking sessions, and recruitment drives.
Help manage logistics for workshops, virtual and in-person employer events, and alumni engagement activities.

Internship Program Implementation
Collaborate with local and international employers to create meaningful career and internship opportunities.
Co-implement the internship program when needed, including registration and placement ensuring alignment with academic departments.
Assist in the preparation of reports on program outcomes, student participation, and employer engagement.
3. Alumni Relations & Engagement
Support the development and implementation of alumni engagement programs, ensuring regular communication and collaboration between the university and its alumni.
Assist in organizing alumni networking events, reunions, and mentoring programs to foster a strong alumni community.
Manage communications with alumni through newsletters, social media,





and email campaigns to keep them informed about career services, events, and networking opportunities.
Maintain the alumni database and facilitate connections between alumni and current students for mentorship and career advice.
Facilitate virtual and in-person engagement activities, connecting students and alumni with potential employers.
4. Technology Utilization
Manage the online jobs database and other career technology platforms, ensuring they are regularly updated and user-friendly.
Use web-based tools, such as LinkedIn, to connect students with job opportunities and alumni networks.
5. Data Analysis
Assist in tracking employment and internship outcomes, including job placement rates, student satisfaction, and employer feedback.






Use data to assess program effectiveness and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
6. Program Evaluation & Feedback
Regularly assess the effectiveness of career advising services, career fairs, and employer partnerships, making recommendations for improvement.
Collect feedback from students, employers, and alumni to enhance service delivery.

Performance Criteria:
Depending on the yearly set KPIs.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Career Counseling, Business Administration, Human Resources, or Psychology.
Master’s degree preferred for Marketing, management.
Certifications such as Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP) or Career Development Facilitator (CDF) are advantageous.

Experience:






Minimum 3-5 years of experience in career services, alumni relations, or a related field in higher education.
Experience in providing career guidance to students and alumni, and building relationships with employers and alumni.

Career Counseling Skills:
Proficient in offering career guidance to students and alumni for effective career planning.
Internship Programs Knowledge:
Understanding of internship policies, procedures, and best practices in higher education.
Alumni Engagement:
Strong ability to foster relationships with alumni and develop engagement strategies.
Employer Relations:
Skilled in establishing partnerships with employers to create internship and career opportunities.
Event Planning:
Capable of organizing career fairs,





networking events, and alumni reunions.
Communication:
Strong communication skills, with experience in writing content for Alumni and ICDC webpage and managing social media.
Technology:
Proficient with career services software, alumni databases, and online job portals.
Data Analysis:
Ability to track and evaluate data on student and alumni outcomes for program improvement.
Team Collaboration:
Able to collaborate effectively with colleagues in ICDC and across the university.
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong interpersonal abilities to build relationships and work collaboratively with students, alumni, academics, employers’ human resources staff and other company professionals.
Problem-Solving Skills:






Capacity to resolve issues related to internship placements and student concerns.
Attention to Detail:
Thoroughness in maintaining accurate records and documentation for Internship, career and alumni data.

Ethical Standards:
Adherence to ethical guidelines and confidentiality in handling student and employer information.
