Full job description
The Medical Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, playing a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical setting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Fluency in English and Arabic is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction: Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a warm and professional manner.
- Appointment Management: Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments,
ensuring optimal use of clinic resources.
- Patient Registration: Accurately enter patient information into the system, verify insurance details, and manage patient records.
- Telephone Handling: Answer and manage incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information regarding services, procedures, and appointments.
- Billing and Payments: Handle billing processes, including invoicing, processing payments, and managing insurance claims.
- Coordination with Medical Staff: Assist doctors, nurses, and other medical staff by providing patient information, preparing patient files, and facilitating communication between departments.
- Customer Service: Address patient concerns and complaints, ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Confidentiality Management: Handle all patient information with the utmost confidentiality, adhering to privacy regulations and company policies.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, including filing, managing office supplies,
and maintaining a clean and organized reception area.
Requirements:
- Medical Background: Prior experience working in a medical or healthcare setting is essential.
- Language Skills: Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken, is required.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems, Microsoft Office, and other office equipment.
- Customer Service: A patient-focused attitude with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, professional, and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Medical Administration: A diploma or certification in medical administration or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with Insurance Billing: Familiarity with medical insurance processes and billing procedures in the UAE.
