Job Description:

Aldar Academies are currently seeking an outstanding Early Years Foundation Stage Class Teacher for Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing August 2024.

Mamoura British Academy is a British curriculum school with a Lower, Middle and Senior School model located in a state of the art building in the heart of Abu Dhabi. Al Mamoura Academy has a mixed Primary School and a girls-only Secondary School. Al Mamoura is proud to be accredited by British Schools Overseas (BSO).

In our Nursery and Foundation Stage we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we use the EYFS Framework which sets standards for the learning, development, and care of all of our children. In Years 1 and 2 we aim to provide a successful, seamless transition from the EYFS curriculum into the English National Curriculum. From Years 3 – 9, our Middle School learning program is an outstanding bespoke international curriculum that is designed to meet the developmental needs of young minds. In Year 9 our students start their decision-making process for their option years (Years 10-13)





whether it will be English National Curriculum or US Curriculum.

Teaching and learning:

1. To be able to teach all areas of the Early Years Curriculum.
2. Thorough knowledge and an in-depth understanding of the new Early Years Curriculum.
3. Organising the classroom,





learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment and support the development of the Mamoura British Academy USP in this area.
4. Planning, preparing and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
5. Providing support and interventions for students with EAL or who have additional learning needs.
6. Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation.
7. Evidencing children’s work and learning in line with the Mamoura British Academy Marking and Feedback policy.
8. Being reflective of lessons taught and student progress, and adjusting planning, curriculum and continuous provision to reflect this.
9. Meeting with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists, if required.






10. Ensuring that the Mamoura British Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attributes are being embedded throughout the curriculum.
11. Contribute to the development of teaching and learning across the school by sharing best practice, participating in school CPD and T&L; initiatives.
12. To be able to demonstrate effective use of technology through innovative and creative lesson delivery and continuous provision.

Assessment and data:

1. Taking responsibility for the attainment and progress of a class of children in the EYFS to ensure that they reach above expected expectations.
2. Meeting the requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development using Learning Ladders.
3.





Using data provided by assessments to influence further planning and interventions.
4. Providing regular feedback to parents and carers on a student’s progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
5. To plan, prepare and contribute to termly Pupil Progress meetings.

Behaviour management and duties:

1. To follow the Mamoura British Academy behaviour management policy and promote the TRACK Values to set high expectations.
2. Manage classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to pupils’ needs in order to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
3. Maintain good relationships with pupils and parents and follow the school’s procedures to manage and challenge any rare occurrences of unwanted behaviour.
4.





Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values and behaviour which are expected of pupils.
5. Carry out playground and other duties in a punctual, interactive and proactive manner.
6. Ensure that any concerns relating to behaviour & safeguarding are accurately followed up on and logged on CPOMS.

Wider professional responsibilities:

1. To work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources and special events linked to that team.
2. Support with organising and taking part in school events, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening.
3. Communicate effectively with parents/carers with regards to student’s achievements and well-being using school systems/processes.
4.





Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
5. To run a weekly ECA each term to enhance the provision we offer for our students.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor degree in Education or Bachelor Degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience:

1. Teaching experience in the English National Curriculum.
2. EYFS experience preferred.
