Roles and Responsibilities
- A minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering within the hospitality industry, showcasing a proven track record of success in the profession.
- Knowledgeable of OSHA workplace safety standards which include but are not limited to PPE, ladder safety, lock out tag out, electrical tool safety, etc.
- A solid grasp of a variety of power hand tools such as a drill, drill press, band saw, SAWZALL, drain rodding machines and the like.
- A good working knowledge of basic electrical systems including 120v and 220v building and equipment power. Related tools for this include the use of multi-meters and amp probes.
- A solid working knowledge of basic plumbing and piping systems including copper pipe fitting, PVC pipe fitting, steel pipe fitting up to 1” diameter. Related tools for this include a brazing torch, pipe threading machine and pipe cutters.
- An understanding of basic HVAC systems such as fan coils, air handling units, exhaust fans and make-up air units. Related tools for this include the use of power washers, hand tools, work lights, ladders, and scaffolding.
- Skilled in Maintenance Aptitude, Trade Mathematics and Trade Communications.
- Visual ability to read manufacturer’s instructions, schematics and blueprints.
- Work autonomously, taking initiative to resolve technical issues effectively and efficiently.
- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
- Sensational physical health and endurance to engage in heavy lifting and master prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Key Responsibilities
- Works with all trade mechanics as required to help with repairs and perform preventive maintenance, showcasing a commitment to industry-leading standards.
- Ensures the maintenance of systems such as changing filters, lubricating bearings, cleaning cooling coils, cleaning drain pans and checking / changing drive belts.
- Responds to guests’ and fellow ‘FIVERs’ requests to make necessary repairs to accommodate the customer’s needs in a timely and courteous manner.
- Performs preventive maintenance of all areas, as assigned, with a calm and courteous attitude that reflects the ‘Vibe at FIVE.’
- Repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots all equipment in accordance with blueprint, wiring diagrams, schematics,
operations manuals, and manufacturer’s maintenance instructions.
- Consistently documents the completion of assigned work orders, demonstrating meticulous communication and precision in execution.
- Effortlessly sets up and breaks down power and lighting equipment for exhibits, meetings and banquets, involving pushing, pulling, and lifting equipment and materials up to 50 lbs.
- Maintains and organises a properly stocked storeroom by keeping an inventory of supplies, parts, and equipment manuals to complete repairs with ‘FIVE-Styled’ efficiency.
- Ensures all work follows strict adherence to safe work practices and procedures, prioritising the well-being and security of all personnel involved.
- Contributes to DTCM and FIVE’s sustainability initiatives,
elevating FIVE to new heights.

1. Reporting: Providing clear reports on maintenance activities, costs, and needs to upper management.
2. Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborating with other departments to understand maintenance needs and scheduling.
Safety Compliance
1. Regulatory Knowledge:
Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
2. Safety Training: Educating maintenance staff on safe work practices and emergency response procedures.
Inventory Management
1. Supply Tracking: Managing inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for repairs.
2. Vendor Relations: Coordinating with suppliers and contractors for materials and services as needed.

1. Quality Assurance: Ensuring all maintenance work meets quality standards and is completed to specifications.
2. Documentation: Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
