About the role:

Mott MacDonald is currently looking for a Junior Dry Utilities Engineer for its Land Development team in Abu Dhabi, to support with the technical delivery of multiple master-planning/land development projects across the Emirate.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

1. Prepare designs and calculations to utility authority standards.
2. Preparation of electrical load calculations, load schedules, LV schedules and voltage drop calculations,





cable de-rating calculations, etc.
3. Prepare designs for the following:
1. HV, MV and LV networks including the preparation of single line diagrams and layouts for infrastructure projects.
2. Telecommunication infrastructure network design and knowledge of GSM coverage requirements including preparation of layouts and coverage drawings.
3. Street lighting network design including preparation of single line diagrams, layouts and Voltage drop calculations.
4. Street lighting for tunnels/underpasses.
5. Prepare lux calculations (DiaLux software) for street lighting.

- Seek the optimal solution from internal and external sources for any design-related issues.
- Conduct a technical review for progress reporting.
- Liaising/meeting with developers, clients or stakeholders to update on progress.
- Provide any reports updates to the projects design managers and project managers including clients when needed.
- Coordinate aspects of projects submittal and deliverables, reviews and approvals against contract requirements.






- Report and advise on deviations from the same.
- Assist in providing design, reports, and liaison role for all disciplines/departments.
- Assist the Manager/Senior Engineers or Designates in work coordination with other Mott MacDonald teams.
- Assist in providing marketing support to the team with current and future clients.

Candidate Specification:

1. Minimum Bachelors' Degree in Electrical Engineering (or any relevant discipline); progressing towards Professional Registration (CEng or similar) with membership in a professional institution.
2. Design of electrical systems using relevant software.
3. Experience and skills including ProjectWise, Infraworks, Navisworks, Openutilities etc.
4. Ability to manage a design and approval process interfacing with the project team,





Clients and Stakeholders.
5. Experienced in district cooling requirements and load demand calculations.
6. Sound knowledge of local authority and standards mainly (DMT, ADDC, TRANSCO, DoE/ ADWEA, ETISALAT, DU, RSB, ADM, DEWA, RTA, DM).
7. In-depth understanding of Abu Dhabi Authority Guidelines is a must.
8. Experienced in BIM is preferable.
9. In-depth understanding of relevant software is a must.
10. Strong infrastructure engineering background with previous experience on infrastructure projects.
11. Understanding of the requirements for primary substations, pocket substations and feeder pillars as part of the design.
12. Telecommunication infrastructure Network Design and knowledge of GSM coverage requirements.
13. Well-versed with Abu Dhabi,





Dubai and KSA standards and requirements.
14. A dedicated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
15. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
16. A high attention to detail and a fundamental desire for delivering the best possible product at all times.
