The College of Dentistry at Gulf Medical University has been providing high-quality dental education since its establishment in 2008. We are currently seeking a passionate Assistant/Associate Professor to join our College:
Qualifications and Experiences:
1. Academic and Clinical Qualifications:
- PhD or equivalent qualification in Periodontics from a recognized and accredited university (Western/American qualification preferred).
- Recognized clinical qualification and licensure as a consultant in Periodontics.
- Significant teaching and clinical supervision experience at the postgraduate level.
1. Experience:
- A minimum of 8–10 years of experience in dental education, research, and clinical practice, with at least 5 years at the Professor or Consultant level.
- Proven track record of leadership in academic settings and successful supervision of postgraduate students.
- A strong portfolio of published research in peer-reviewed international journals.
1. Research and Grants:
- Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale research projects and secure competitive research funding.
- A consistent and strong record of research productivity and publications.
1. Professional Skills:
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate across departments.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in Arabic is preferable.
Responsibilities
1. Leadership in Teaching:
Lead the development and delivery of innovative, evidence-based courses in Periodontics.
Mentor junior faculty and students, fostering a culture of excellence in clinical education and research.
Ensure integration of clinical practice with the latest advances in technology and techniques in dentistry.
1. Curricular Development:
Oversee the continuous enhancement of the Periodontic curriculum, ensuring alignment with international standards and best practices.
Promote interdisciplinary teaching and collaborations within the College of Dentistry and with other faculties.
1. Research and Innovation:
Lead research initiatives in the field of Periodontics, contributing to the institution's national and international research reputation.
Develop and secure research funding, both nationally and internationally, for projects in the field.
Publish regularly in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and participate in international dental conferences.
1. Clinical Practice and Supervision:
Provide expert-level clinical care in Periodontics, serving as a consultant for complex cases.
Supervise and mentor students and junior clinicians during their clinical rotations and research projects.
Promote the integration of research findings into clinical practice.
