About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Manager to join D-Marin .
Palm Jumeirah Marina and Dubai Islands Marina are seeking a skilled and dynamic Technical Manager to oversee engineering and maintenance operations across both sites.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and safety of all facilities, equipment, and infrastructure at both marinas. This role is vital for maintaining high standards of safety, functionality, and customer satisfaction at these premier marina locations.
Facility Maintenance and Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all facilities at both Palm Jumeirah Marina and Dubai Islands Marina, including docks, piers, breakwaters, buildings, and utility systems.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for both sites to ensure the reliability and safety of all marina infrastructure.
- Manage and monitor the maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems,
ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards at both marinas.
Project Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects across both marinas, including renovations, upgrades, and new installations.
- Prepare project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation plans for projects at each site.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and supervise maintenance staff, technicians, and engineers at both marina locations.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, efficiency, and continuous improvement across both sites.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and development opportunities for team members.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations at both Palm Jumeirah Marina and Dubai Islands Marina.
- Implement and maintain safety protocols to protect staff, customers, and the environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards at both locations.
Budget Management:
- Prepare and manage the engineering department’s budget for both marinas, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Monitor expenses at each site and make recommendations for cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and safety.
- Professional Engineer (PE)
license or equivalent certification.
Customer Service:
- Collaborate with the operations teams at both marinas to address customer needs and concerns related to facilities and maintenance.
- Ensure that the facilities at both Palm Jumeirah Marina and Dubai Islands Marina are maintained to provide a high-quality experience for customers.
Emergency Response:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for incidents involving infrastructure or equipment at both marinas.
- Lead the engineering team in responding to emergencies and coordinate with other departments as necessary.
About you:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil,
Mechanical, Electrical) or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in facilities management, engineering, or maintenance, preferably within a marina or waterfront environment.
- Proven experience in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and other relevant tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in marina operations or a maritime environment.
- Familiarity with marina-specific software and technologies.
