KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Depending upon the assignment, the jobholder performs all or any of the following provision/maintenance & fault rectification functions in respect of the assigned Core Network elements.
2. Carries out simple and routine provision/maintenance & fault rectification tasks in respect of the assigned Core and Fixed Network elements, attends to the assigned major/non-routine tasks under supervision, guidance, and support of seniors.
3. Assists in carrying out the prescribed test routines using different types of test equipment.
4. Implements the fault rectification procedures of equipment, ensuring conformance to the prescribed standards and procedures.
5. Supports maintenance activities including requisitioning,
receiving, acceptance testing, and mobilization to the work site. In addition, handles store issues and utilization of spares, tools, and equipment.
6. Attends, analyzes, and clears faults reported by NOC’s. Furthermore, informs the major faults to superiors for review.
7. Assists in locating and clearing Junction F.O Cable Network faults. Attends assigned duties including call-out/emergencies.
8. Uses craft terminal/test equipment to access & localize faults.
9. Maintains and updates records in the section DB.
10. Demonstrates initiative in updating knowledge and skills in respect of the new equipment technology introduced to core networks.
11. Undertakes full responsibility for all equipment in his area.
12. Assists in clearance of Fixed asset variation.
13. Assists in the follow-up of repair & return process of recovered faulty hardware (cards).
14. Assists in preparing the following:
1. Staff monthly timesheet.
2. Staff access to transmission sites.
3.
Coordination with Admin to get necessary approvals.
4. Attends ATP for New Nodes and Expansion in Network and clears ACL from the perspective of Maintenance Team.
5. Responsible for the Acceptance of Newly installed ODF’s and Junction Cables in The Network.
Qualification & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering/Telecommunications/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
4-6 years experience in field operation and maintenance of Telecom networks (Transport, IP Switching, Mobile) networks.
