**Job Summary.**
QC Inspector - machine shop experience CNC milling and turning; valve manufacture; use CMM equipment, experienced in facing API Q1, API 6A, API 6D audits; strong knowledge of valve assembly inspection; perform inspection on parts using precision measuring equipment; perform visual inspection on machined parts, review MTCs against material and API specifications; experience in NDE, heat treatment, painting, phosphating, Xylan coatings; review full QC document package and highlight issues; witness pressure testing and load testing; read machining drawings and GD&T; symbols; perform welding audits; perform hardness checks; work independently, plan and witness electromechanical FAT; prepare reports. Good English required,
ability to write nonconformance reports and perform root cause analysis and review ITPs.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Ensure all company policies surrounding material handling, health & safety, quality requirements and housekeeping are met.
- Adhere to NOV’s IT policies and ensure that confidentiality of drawings, specifications, procedure, and documents in always maintained (digital or printed)
- Perform workplace, internal and supplier quality audits when required.
- Interpret, evaluate and perform examinations, inspections and test in accordance with applicable specifications, procedures and drawings.
- Examine certification supplied with received materials and components in line with internal processes/purchase order and related requirements, expediting any discrepancies with certification, purchasing and supply base.
- Support inspection Cell Leader to feed priorities into inspection WIP locations to enable the timely and effective inspection of parts in accordance with production and sales schedules.
- Place purchase orders and coordinate delivery of items to be coated externally, including liaison with Stores, Purchasing and Supply base in accordance with production schedule.
- Carry out inspection of coated parts and interpret the results to make recommendations for acceptance or otherwise of parts based on inspection results.
- Review nonconforming product and determine and take the most appropriate action utilising all available data sources, experience and knowledge.
- Select, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the QC inspection of coated products or materials.
- Conduct pre-operation daily and other checks on equipment where required.
- Raise and process NCRs as required and determine and take the most appropriate action, using all available relevant data sources.
- Review NDE, heat treatment, coating and welding reports including personnel qualification highlight deficiencies if any.
- Witness pressure tests, load tests, perform surveillance and inspections in fabrication and welding.
- Witness factory acceptance test, perform final inspection and release product.
- Liaise with engineering, suppliers, QC team and QA manager on NCRs as required.
- Liaise with QC/ISE Operations/ISE Aftermarket function cell leader of area assigned as appropriate for daily workload requirements.
- Support wider inspection function, by carrying out inspection duties when business requirements dictate.
- Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by Line Manager.
- Assist the continued development of the process, methodology and equipment utilised within the function.
- Travel when required as dictated by business needs.
- Perform any other duties as may be required to support the business.
**SKILLS/COMPETENCIES**:
- Knowledge of GD&T; symbols, use precision measuring equipment, accurately and efficiently perform dimensional checks on products that have been manufactured to a high degree of precision
- Thorough understanding of materials, welding, heat treatment, NDE, coating, FAT (mechanical, hydraulic and electrical)
- Read information material test certificate and report and determine conformity of material
- Ability to use of coordinate measuring machine CMM is preferred
- Good knowledge of quality control in welding and destructive / non-destructive testing methods
**EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED**:
**Essential**:
- Working knowledge API 6A and 6D products
- Knowledge of GD&T; symbols, use precision measuring equipment, accurately and efficiently perform dimensional checks on products that have been manufactured to a high degree of precision.
- Read information material test certificate and report and determine conformity of material.
- Good knowledge of quality control in heat-treatment, coating, welding and non-destructive process, including concept of process validation
- Perform workplace and internal quality audits.
- Knowledge and ability to perform fabrication and welding surveillance and inspection.
- Communication with suppliers
- Good written and spoken English and ability to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge and use of ERP system
