Assistant Professor ofPublic Health, Epidemiology, and Community Medicine

The College of Medicine,Ajman University, has an opening for the position of an AssistantProfessor in Public Health, Epidemiology, and Community Medicine,starting Fall semester2024-2025.
Job Responsibilities :
- Developand deliver courses to students in the specified discipline areasof study, considering and aiming to achieve the three (3)fundamental university standards : Teaching, Research, andServices.
- Evaluate and monitor individualstudent progress and provide feedback to sustain studentsuccess.
- Conduct high-quality research in theirown field and publish research outcomes in reputable journals andconferences.
- Pursuing research in relevantbiomedical sciences and / or pedagogy, organize and manageinstructional resources, course outlines, and communitynetworks.
- Supporting and expanding curriculardevelopment in epidemiology and community medicine in consonancewith other basic medical science and pathological science subjectsand linking to the clinical education.
- Activelyseek out methods, procedures, and resources to best achieve courseobjectives.
- Support and participate inaccreditation initiatives.
- Maintainrelationships with students that are conducive tolearning.
- Perform miscellaneous job-relatedduties as assigned.
Job Requirements :
- Basicmedical degree (MBBS / MD).
- Earned Ph.D. Degreein Public Health, Epidemiology, or Community Medicine from anaccredited institution.
- Evidence of ability toteach in one or more of the following areas : epidemiology andbiostatistics, community medicine, public health,
or environmentaland occupational health.
- Previous experienceteaching in an integrated systems-basedcurriculum.
- Previous involvement inProblem-Based Learning (PBL) and Team-Based Learning (TBL)educational processes (i.e., development, tutor-guide preparation,facilitation, and assessment) will be highlydesirable.
- The candidate must be able tocommunicate in English.
- Advanced use oftechnology in the education process (delivering classes viapresentations, using e-learning systems, reports,etc.).

- Familiarity with LearningManagement Systems (LMS).
- Strong knowledge ofpublic health principles, epidemiology, and health promotionstrategies.
- Proficiency in quantitative andqualitative research methodologies.
- Ability toanalyze public health data and interpret findingseffectively.
InterpersonalSkills :
- Excellentcommunication skills for presenting complex information to diverseaudiences.
- Strong collaboration skills forworking with community organizations, government agencies,
andinterdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to mentor andsupport students or juniorprofessionals.
TechnicalSkills :
- Proficiency instatistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R) and data visualizationtools.
- Familiarity with health informationsystems and public healthdatabases.
