**Job Title ** : Junior Accountant
**Reports to**: Operation Manager
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- **Financial Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all transactions related to the holiday home operations. This includes income from rentals, expenses, payroll, and any other financial activities.
- **Accounts Payable and Receivable**: Handle accounts payable by processing vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments, and reconciling accounts. Manage accounts receivable by invoicing customers for rentals, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
- **Budgeting and Forecasting**: Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts for the holiday home business.
Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and provide regular reports to management.
- **Tax Compliance**: Ensure compliance with tax regulations relevant to the holiday home industry. This includes collecting and remitting occupancy taxes, property taxes, and any other applicable taxes.
- **Financial Analysis**: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial data.
- **Payroll Processing**: Assist in processing payroll for employees, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes. Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time.
- **Inventory Management**: Track inventory of supplies and equipment used in the holiday home operations. Reconcile inventory records with physical counts and report any discrepancies.
- **Audit Support**: Assist in preparing financial documents and supporting documentation for audits conducted by external auditors or regulatory agencies.
- **Software Proficiency**:
Utilize accounting software and other relevant tools to perform financial tasks efficiently. Familiarity with industry-specific software for managing vacation rentals is a plus.
- **Communication and Collaboration**: Work closely with other team members, including property managers, owners, and external vendors, to ensure smooth financial operations. Communicate effectively to address any financial concerns or discrepancies.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting the holiday home industry. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the overall success of the business.
