JESS Arabian Ranches Primary is seeking dedicated, dynamic, experienced and highly committed candidate for a Part time 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join our Primary Team to support the Class Teacher in meeting the educational and social needs of a Foundation Stage student.

As experienced education practitioners, the post holders must have experience in fostering a caring atmosphere and be dedicated to the well-being, social and academic progress of each student.

Position/Job Title: Part Time 1:1 Learning Support Assistant

Reporting to: Head of Oasis and Class Teacher







Requirements

Professional qualifications:

- Minimum High School Diploma
- Further qualifications and professional development training in supporting inclusion for students with additional learning needs would be advantageous (ABA training etc)

Professional Experience:

- At least 2 years’ experience in supporting teaching and learning in the classroom (at any phase of learning) is required
- Previous experience of working with students of determination is highly desirable
- Exemplary communication skills, both verbal and written
- Able to work positively and effectively with parents and colleagues

Personal qualities and skills:

- Maintain a positive attitude and work co-operatively at all times






- Behave at all times in a manner befitting a role model for the pupils of the school and in a manner that brings only respect to colleagues and the reputation of JESS.
- Be open and adaptable to changing circumstances and guidelines
- Be prompt and well organised at all times
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to all school matters at all times
- Be able to work effectively under pressure, prioritise appropriately and meet deadlines, display good organisational skills
- Articulate and strong communicator

Job Role

Duties and responsibilities:

- Run 1:1 intervention with a Foundation Stage pupil with additional learning needs i.e. academic support sessions
- Support in-class learning and social interactions as required
- Track pupil progress and feedback to teachers






- Liaising with teachers to understand lesson planning and support in adapted resourcing as needed
- Team administration such as updating pupil profiles, IEPs, and school information systems
- Perform break duties, attend staff meetings, and contribute to extra-curricular events if/as required
- Follow all school and authority policies and procedures
- Establish a supportive relationship with the pupil concerned.
- Develop an understanding of the specific needs of the pupil o be supported.
- Manage the student as advised by the SENCo and subject teacher.
- Motivate pupil through praise and encouragement.
- Be adaptable to changing circumstances and guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as required

Safeguarding:







- Bringing to the immediate attention of the designated safeguarding lead and the Director any significant pastoral matters, including any safeguarding concerns
- Abide by the school safeguarding policy and keep abreast of any changes
